Hey,

thanks for providing this amazing site. Its looking and working great so far.

Ive got one question tho, before I ask my friends to migrate to this site: Can you start a game with less then 7 players? And if so, how does a game like this work? Is it the usual "germany and italy are ignored"-rule for 5 players?

Id try out myself but I dont want to spam your site with a dead game just for trying out purposes.

Sure, that's possible...

You can start a game with less than seven players. When you setup and configure a game, set Game controls to Both or Manual. In this mode the game master can start the game any time. See here what those options mean: https://dplmc.com/faq/game-configuration/control-mode

No, the rule Germany and Italy are ignored is not implemented. I wasn't aware this rule exists. But there is a workaround for this case: When setting up the game, set Choose power to true. This way, players can choose the nation they play.

Inactive players, i.e. Germany, Italy give hold orders for all units all the time. They are not affecting ratings of active players (their points are not re-distributed). This implicates i.e. if you play with the ratings mode 'Winner takes all' with five players, the winner has less ratings gain than in a game has seven active players.

If you see bugs, please let me know. I tried to test the game by playing against myself but there might be edge-cases I didn't consider.
